KOAKUMA AGEHA is a fashion magazine which is famous in Japan in recent years. This magazine focuses on how the Japanese "Kyaba-Jou(cabaret club hostess)" get their make up and how their life is.

http://twitpic.com/10vrj1It seems like you think it is just a magazine focusing on Kyaba-Jou for now. However, there's the most interesting feature that KOAKUMA AGEHA has.

It is so-called "Mori". Mori means how great the Kyaba-Jou get make up mostly their hairs. They show strange hair style which often named after strange words like "Tokyo Tower Mori" Style. And if you read this magazine, you can master how to make up strange hair style like I write above.

You can see from the picture on the right that how the Tokyo Tower Mori is like. And on right side of this picture, you can see how to make this hair style.

There are a lot other hair style like this. Here's some example: "Headphone Mori", "Crown Mori", "Cat's Ear Mori" and so on.

KOAKUMA AGEHA is making some trends in Japan not only among Kyaba-Jou but every other people in Japan. The young and adult knows KOAKUMA AGEHA these days.

KOAKUMA AGEHA sells 300,000 copies. KOAKUMA AGEHA sells more than other major magazines in Japan. And though other magazine publisher selling is declining, KOAKUMA AGEHA selling is increasing. Surprisingly, this growth is achieved in 3 years.

The editor of KOAKUMA AGEHA says in the interview that they are making only what Kyaba-Jou thinks it Kawaii(cute). This is why the KOAKUMA AGEHA sells well.

Another reason why KOAKUMA AGEHA sells well is that they are making empathy from every readers. How do they make empathy? They features not only interesting thing but also hard to read or write articles. By writing about when and how people feels really hard or feels difficulties, they are making empathy with every readers.

If you have chance to come to Japan, you should get this magazine for souvenirs. It is sold in book store or more often, convenience store in Kabukichou, Shinjuku. You might be able to see real Kyaba-Jou as well around Kabukichou.
