Will The "Amurar Phenomenon" revive or not?

Fake PM Hatoyama and ..

Share
Share |
Recently Japanese prime minister, Hatoyama started his own blog to spread the word around Japan.   And he also started Twitter. See below picture. These are "official" blog and twitter account.

As to communicate with people in Japan, PM Hatoyama is writing the blog and Twitter as Obama also does. That's cool. I think it's good to use these kind of tools in the age of information society and in the age of internet.

Relating to this, today I found very funny blog written by comedian. See below picture. He is a comedian called "Kuruo Hatoyama". You can see that he is really similar to PM Hatoyama. And his slogan is "My Life is First" while PM Hatoyama's slogan is "People's Life is First".

http://blog.livedoor.jp/tsuruken777/

In Japan, there're a lot of comedian like him. We have more big imitating comedian (impersonator). He is...

President Obama!! He is a comedian imitating President Obama called "Notchi". (read the article here too)

(Picture: Hatoyama Kuruo and Notchi met together. the man with glasses is partner of Notchi called Kazuhiro Yasuda. He is in a roll of SP..)

There are a lot of funny comedians in Japan. Lots of Japanese young want to be a comedian. And  there's comedian school in Osaka and Tokyo. On TV we have a lot of comedy shows. Everyday we watch comedians.

Hatsune Miku Illustration Competition by METI

Share
Share |
To promote recycle of "rare metal" which is often used in mobile phone, Japanese Ministry of Economics, Trade, and Industry(METI) had a competition of Illustration of Hatsune Miku collaborating with a illustration sharing site named "PiaPro".

on 22th of January, they announced the illustration of winner's gathering in video with music made by Hatsune Miku. updated on YouTube official page of METI. you can see this video from below.

Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid and its character which is popular amongst Otaku people in Japan.(wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid)

the campaign of "recycle rare metal"is called "Tansu Keitai Atsumetai\(^o^)/(たんすケータイあつめタイ\(^o^)/"meaning "wanna gather cellphone in your drawer which is not used". this campaign gives 5000yen of money coupon for 158,800 people by lot.

Japanese government sometimes does this kind of attempt because they think Japanese Otaku culture is welcome and popular in outside Japan (and Otaku culture is thought to enlarge economic size). that's why Japanese government is using this kind of culture.

Japanese Otaku is also welcome this kind of attempt to spread the Otaku culture around the world.

I think this is good movement to spread Japanese culture. But i think there's more to spread in Japan like just a culture of food, way of living, university students'... Otaku culture is probably easy to make it a character of promoting some event or campaign.

Changes in sense of Value among Japanese Young

Share
Share |
http://www.j-cast.com/2010/01/19058250.html

Japanese young are said to be changed its sense of value compared with older generation's sense of value when they were young.

What is changed?
10-20 years ago, young want to buy expensive goods, car, and their own house. the young were wanting "status" that would make more value or the young wanting the same thing people have.

But now, it's changed.
the young are wanting what other people doesn't have. they are not wanting expensive goods. They don't see value in having brand goods, car, and own house. One research shows that most of the young doesn't want a car: 36% of them are not wanting, and 25% of them are wanting to have a car.

Because these days UNIQLO, H&M, Forever21, and other shops are providing low price goods, the young become to think they are clever when they buy good thing at a low price. The article said that the young want to be recognized as "clever". There're 3 points when the young buys something: (1)if the goods are fit to their hobby or their favorites (2)if the goods helps you saving money (3)if the goods makes others think you clever.

Yeah, it's true. I myself don't want to buy too much expensive goods like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel... I do more like to buy good quality products at a low price or at a price that I can afford to.

I don't know what is going on. But I myself think the soicety is changing to more like not-based-on-money society.

this behavior of the young is called "Ken-Shouhi(嫌消費)". It might translate into "Anti-Consuming".
what about other countries? are the young overseas "Ken-Shouhi"??

Luida's Bar is Opening in Roppongi on 28th January

Share

Have you ever heard of "Luida's Bar"??
If you have played "Dragon Quest", you might know.

Luida's Bar is a bar appeared in Dragon Quest. Since next series of Dragon Quest is released on 28th of January, Square Enix (computer game software company), and other companies is opening the Luida's Bar as like a ceremony of the release.

There, you can drink several kinds of alcohol named after magics, monsters, tools of the Dragon Quest. And of course the bartenders of Luida's Bar are Luida and Ricka(I don't know if its spell is correct..). Picture blow is a photo of Luida and Ricka.

Some of you guys are suprised that the bar is opening in Roppongi since this kind of bar is often opened in Akihabara which is known as the City of the Otaku Culture.

Why Luida's Bar is opening in Roppongi?? The reason why this bar is opening in Roppongi is that the Dragon Quest is spread around several kinds of users. Of course young are playing this game, but 30-40 years old guys and even women are playing it. So to promote every sector of users, they are opening the bar in Roppongi. If the bar is opened in Akihabara, it is difficult for NOT-Otaku-Guys to go there.

If you are a fan of Dragon Quest and want to go to Luida's Bar or have chance to come to Japan,  you should go and check what the bar is like :)

In my office, we have a toilet with bidet function, oder eliminating function, and sheet warming function. toilet like my office is becoming common in every home.

if you want to try good and highly-functional toilet, I recommend that you should go to department store(like Isetan(伊勢丹), Takashimaya(高島屋), Mitsukoshi(三越)) or Hotel.
